How much has the consumption of bottled gas increased?
According to the company, compared to 2023, sales volumes increased by 18%. At the same time, 70% of total sales were accounted for by household consumers, while in the pre-war 2021 this share was only 32%. The demand for bottled propane-butane gas for the population is within 2.5-3 thousand tons/month.
In particular, the BVS gas filling station network repaired 15,000 household cylinders in 2024 (replacement of valves, technical certification, painting), which is 40% more than in 2023. This is precisely about improving the safety situation when operating cylinders, the company adds. Also, let us recall that in 2024, Ukrainians purchased 7,000 new household cylinders for liquefied gas TM “BVS”, which is 20.7% more than in 2023.
Alternative energy in emergency conditions
Since February 2022, bottled propane-butane has become one of the few available alternative energy sources used during blackouts or in regions without main gas supply. The popularity of this product is confirmed by the launch of a state project to support vulnerable segments of the population, within the framework of which liquefied gas in cylinders is supplied on a humanitarian basis.
About BVS
The operator of the BVS gas station network is one of the largest wholesalers of LPG and petroleum products in Ukraine. The company is developing a network of points of sale for bottled gas and household cylinders with the BVS trademark of the same name.
As previously reported, BVS operates five LPG stations and 15 mini LPG stations in the Zakarpattia, Ternopil, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia, Poltava, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
20 units of specialized transport are used to deliver bottled gas, which serve up to 1,000 enterprises in the country and 24,000 households, as the company noted in July 2024.
